Recipes in this blog are a collection of some of my family recipes. My mum comes from the spice island of zanzibar

so expect to see some spicy recipes but definitely not ‘chilli hot’ recipes.

I intend to only post recipes that are simple to follow and that don’t require a mountain of obscure ingredients. The essential ingredients to have are as follow:

Garlic
Ginger
Onions
lemon juice
Curry paste (to make life easier)
Chilli powder/sauce

Most of the recipes do not have exact measurements for all the ingredients so its a case of tasting and being careful with unfamiliar ingredients. Always make sure your meat is cooked properly and if you leave your meat to marinate over night please make sure your kitchen is cool otherwise put it in the fridge.
